Sippin’ Sunday: In the Middle of It All ✨
This week officially kicked off my spring market season—and if I had to sum it up in one word, it would be: learning.
My first Fiesta-themed markets are officially behind me, and I’ll be honest… they weren’t my strongest. I stepped a little outside of what I normally do to lean into the Fiesta vibe, and while everything didn’t land the way I hoped, I’m really glad I tried it.
Because that’s part of this journey, right?
Trying something different. Seeing what works. Figuring out what doesn’t. And adjusting for next time.
And speaking of next time—I’m really excited about what’s ahead.
I had the chance to collaborate with @customcreatedbyjess on a few pieces that complement my product line, and I’m looking forward to introducing those at my May market. That’s one of the best parts about doing in-person markets… the connections. Not just with customers, but with other creatives who are building something of their own.
That part never gets old.
This week also came with a tough moment for the local small business community. Painted Tree Boutique filed for bankruptcy, and for many vendors in San Antonio, that space wasn’t just a storefront—it was a major part of their business.
Watching that unfold, especially right at the start of Fiesta season, was hard.
But what stood out even more was how the community responded.
Vendors opened up their markets. People created space. Pop-ups were organized. Support showed up in real, tangible ways.
And it was a reminder of something important:
Small businesses may compete—but communities support.
I also had my first coffee shop market this week—right up the road from me. The weather wasn’t great, foot traffic was light, and sales weren’t where I wanted them to be.
But even then… it was still worth it.
Because I met new vendors. I made new connections. I learned more about what works in smaller, more intimate settings.
And I already know—it’s something I’ll do again.
Maybe just a little differently next time.
That’s really what this season feels like right now:
Not perfect. Not polished. But moving.
Trying new things.
Building relationships.
Learning in real time.
And honestly? That’s a win.
Here’s to growth, good people, and figuring it out one market at a time. 💛
