๐Ÿ›️ Flex Friday: Clarity Is a Superpower — Knowing Your Customer, Shaping Your Shop ๐Ÿง ✨

We’ve all heard the tips: ๐Ÿงผ “Spring clean your Etsy shop.” ๐Ÿ” “Audit your listings and keywords.” ๐Ÿ“ธ “Make sure your photos are top-tier.” And yes — all of that does matter. But the biggest shift I’ve made in the last 3.5 months? It’s not about aesthetics. It’s about alignment . Let’s Talk Real Etsy Life: Since launching in February, I’ve had a front-row seat to the evolution of my shop. I’ve experimented. I’ve tested. I’ve rolled with it. And here’s what I found: ๐Ÿ’ก Premade glasses and cup kits — these crush it in person. At craft fairs and pop-ups, people love to see, touch, and personalize. They get it instantly and it’s an easy sell. ๐Ÿ’ก UV DTF Wraps and digital-style listings — these sell better online . Etsy is full of DIYers who love the flexibility of customizing their own glassware, and they’re happy to buy just the wrap and add their own spin. That tells me everything I need to know: ๐Ÿ›️ The same product doesn’t always work on every platform. The Shift I’m Ma...

๐Ÿ›ผ Creativity & Inspiration Doesn’t Clock Out: Lessons from the Roller Rink ✨

This weekend, I took a break from the hustle of Rise Up Designs to support my niece at her artistic roller-skating competition in Waco, TX — and I came back with something unexpected: A heart full of inspiration… and a phone full of photos and ideas. ๐Ÿ˜ I didn’t bring my Cricut, my tumblers, or my sticker stash. What d id I  bring? My eyes, my heart, and a quiet reminder that even when you’re not “on,” creativity doesn’t clock out. What I Noticed from the Sidelines: ๐ŸŽจ The bright, joyful color palettes in every costume — from neons and glitter to soft pastels and bold contrasts. Instant design inspo. ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ The skaters ranged from tiny beginners to full-grown adults — all ages , all abilities , all showing up . ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ The dedication was unreal. Every spin, every jump, every flourish — the result of months (years!) of practice. I watched families cheer, kids adjust costumes, and competitors walk off after a routine with smiles and tears. And it hit me: This is a whole creative c...

๐Ÿซก Sippin’ Still: A Memorial Day Pause

I usually write these posts on Sundays, cup in hand, reflecting on life, creativity, and the rhythm of running a business I love. But this week moved differently—and that’s okay. Today is Monday. Memorial Day. And rather than rush back into the noise of the to-do list, I’m choosing to sit still a little longer. This isn’t a day for advertising or promoting. It’s a day for remembering. For honoring. For holding space for the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can live in freedom. As I sip slowly this morning, I’m reminded that peace is not something we just stumble into—it’s something others have fought and died for. And while no words are ever enough, gratitude is where we can begin. To the brave souls we’ve lost, and to the families who carry their memory: we honor you. We remember you. We thank you. With a quiet heart, Jecca

☀️Flex Friday: Summer’s Coming—Time to Audit, Align & Refresh Your Shop ๐Ÿ›️๐Ÿ“Š

While everyone’s out here planning pool days and vacations, small biz owners? We’re over here thinking about seasonal trends , inventory shifts , and how to make summer sales sparkle . This week’s Flex Friday isn’t about slowing down — it’s about leveling up with intention . Because if you’re an Etsy shop owner (or building any creative biz), summer is the perfect time to: ✅ Refresh. Rethink. Realign. Here’s what I’m doing right now (and maybe you should too): ✔️ Auditing my listings – Are my photos clear? Are the tags and titles still working? What needs a glow-up? ✨๐Ÿ“ธ ✔️ Looking at seasonal trends – Am I aligned with what people are shopping for right now? Think: weddings, travel gifts, end-of-school, sun + fun! ☀️ ✔️ Checking analytics – What’s selling? What’s not? What needs to be featured more? (Yes, data can be cute.) ๐Ÿ“Š ✔️ Planning content – From social posts to product drops, summer is a great time to get ahead — or at least feel a little more in control . ๐Ÿ“… ...

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ Let It Wrap: Why DIY Wins & Flexibility Matters in Small Biz Life ✨๐Ÿซ™๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

If you’ve been following Rise Up Designs lately, you might’ve noticed a little shift — and trust me, I have too. My premade glasses? Still cute. Still vibing. But lately? They’ve been flying off the shelves at markets… not so much online. What’s getting all the Etsy love right now? The wraps. The DIY-ready, peel-and-stick, “you got this” kind of wraps. And honestly? I LOVE that. Why I’m Leaning Into DIY Wraps ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ–๐Ÿฝ I’m all about empowering people to get creative. With every wrap order, I send: ✔️ The wrap (obviously) ✔️ Step-by-step printed instructions ✔️ A scannable QR code that links to my YouTube demo ✔️ A couple of surprise stickers — because who doesn’t love happy mail?! ✉️✨ Some people love the done-for-you tumblers. Others? They want to roll up their sleeves and do it themselves. And honestly? Both are amazing. What It’s Taught Me: Stay Flexible ๐Ÿ’ก Being a small biz owner means listening, watching trends, and flexing when you need to. If your customers are shi...

☕️ Sippin’ Sunday: From Launch to Star Seller — Celebrating the Small (Big) Wins ✨๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

This Sunday feels a little extra sweet — and it’s not just the coffee talking. ☕️ It’s because… I just hit Star Seller on Etsy! ✨๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’› When I launched Rise Up Designs in February, I was hopeful, nervous, and let’s be honest — still figuring out what in the world I was doing. But I jumped in anyway — heart first, wraps second — and just kept going. And here we are, not even halfway through the year, with a shiny little purple badge sitting proudly on my Etsy shop. What Is Star Seller Anyway? ⭐️ It means Etsy noticed the effort: ✅ Fast shipping ✅ Stellar customer service ✅ Glowing reviews ✅ Basically, I’m out here delivering tumblers, bookmarks and joy like a caffeinated crafting fairy. But what it really means? It means people see me. They see my work. They love what I’m making.  And they keep coming back for more. What They Don’t See: The glass straws that shattered in a gust of wind at a market (RIP) The order I confused because I got excited and sent someone the w...

✨ Flex Friday: Wellness, Rest & Why Slowing Down Fuels the Hustle ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ☁️☕️๐Ÿ’›

There’s this thing no one tells you when you start juggling a full-time job and a side business: Rest isn’t a luxury — it’s a requirement. ๐Ÿ›‘๐Ÿ’†๐Ÿฝ‍♀️ Over the last couple of weekends, I finally gave myself a little breathing room. Family time, quiet moments, less hustle, more peace. ๐ŸŒฟ✨ And this week? I went all in. I took a full day off — not just from my 9–5, but from Rise Up too. ๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿฝ‍♀️๐Ÿ’ป No orders. No Canva. No posting. Just me. Lunch at my own pace with my sis. ๐Ÿฅ— A few errands without rushing. ๐Ÿ›’ No pressure, no lists, no multitasking. And let me tell you…I didn’t even realize how much I needed it until I felt myself exhale. ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿฝ‍♀️ Here’s what I’ve realized: ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ When you’re constantly creating, planning, working (and let’s be honest — stressing), it’s easy to believe the lie that says “You have to keep going.” ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿš€ But the truth is: You can’t be your best, most creative self when you’re running on fumes. ✨ You can’t pour into others when your own cup is dry. ☕️ ✨ You can’t serv...

๐Ÿ‘๐ŸฝWhat Hosting My First Mobile Craft Party Taught Me ✨

Starting something new always feels a little exciting… and a lot nerve-wracking. ๐Ÿ˜… When I launched Wrap & Rise , my idea for a mobile craft party experience, I didn’t know if it would land. I just knew I wanted to create something that brought people together in a creative, fun, low-stress way. ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ›ป๐Ÿ’• And now that I’ve hosted a few? I’ve learned a lot — about people, about crafting, and about how joy can show up in the smallest details (like picking the perfect tumbler wrap). ☕️๐ŸŒธ Here’s what I didn’t expect: How much people LOVE choosing their own designs ๐Ÿ–ผ✨ How relaxing it is when you don’t have to bring supplies or clean up ๐Ÿงผ How often someone says “I’m not crafty” — and then totally nails it ๐ŸŽฏ How loud the laughs get when the music’s on and everyone’s just playing ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ˜„ How powerful it is to watch people create something with their own hands and feel so proud of it ๐Ÿ™Œ Why I Keep Saying Yes to This Idea ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ Because it’s not just about tumblers. It’s a...

☕️ Sippin’ Sunday: Pride, Pause & a Little Proprietary Oops ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

This week, I hit pause. I didn’t bring my laptop. I didn’t design anything. I didn’t even post that much. And that was intentional. Because my nephew — Dr. Jake — graduated from the University of Oklahoma (BOOMER SOONER!) with his Doctorate in Occupational Therapy, and I needed to be fully present for it. We drove up to Oklahoma, spent the weekend soaking in all the pride, and celebrated big time. Jake has spent the last few years grinding, studying, and sacrificing — and now he’s earned those hard-won letters after his name. Not only did he graduate, but he and his wife just bought their first home. ๐Ÿก That’s a lot of good stuff in one chapter — and being there for it was everything. Meanwhile… back at Etsy While I was away, one of my listings got flagged and deactivated. Yep. One of my designs pushed a little too close to a protected property. Was it intentional? Absolutely not. Did it still get pulled? Yep. And here’s the kicker — because I intentionally didn’t bring...

๐ŸคWhy Supporting Other Small Businesses Matters (Now More Than Ever)

I say it all the time, but I’ll say it again: We rise by lifting others. Running a small business can be exciting, exhausting, creative, chaotic… and sometimes, kind of lonely. That’s why showing up for each other — even in small ways — matters so much. This week, I’m celebrating a huge moment with my family (my nephew Jake is graduating with his doctorate — proud tia alert!)… But even while I’m out, I wanted to take this Flex Friday to shout out the power of supporting each other. Why It Matters: ✔️ It’s hard out here. Costs are going up. Algorithms change. Life gets lifey. So when you take time to support a fellow maker — even with a like, share, or kind word — it means something. ✔️ It builds community. Every time I meet another vendor, collab with another shop, or just fangirl over someone else’s sticker line — I’m reminded that we’re not competing. We’re creating side by side. ✔️ It reminds us why we started. Seeing other makers show up authentically keeps me in...
