Weekend Recap: Why Being a Proud Tía Is the Best Gig Ever

 This weekend wasn’t about crafting, tumblers, stickers, or blog posts.

This weekend? It was all about MY NIECE. 💕

My niece had her very first out-of-town roller-skating competition, and I was not about to miss it. From the moment my sister mentioned it, I knew I had to be there—not just for her, but for my sister, too. Because let’s be honest: these moments matter.

🛼 Watching My Girl Shine

Let me tell you—she nailed it.
She had the cutest routine, the biggest smile, and the kind of bravery that made my heart want to burst out of my chest like a cartoon character.

Was she nervous? Probably.
Did she crush it anyway? Absolutely.

Watching her out there, doing her thing, reminded me of something really important:

  • Showing up matters.
  • Cheering matters.
  • Just being there? It’s everything.

🚗 The Quick Trip That Meant Everything

We weren’t gone long—just a quick road trip up to Dallas and back.
But in that short time, I got to:

  • Laugh and talk with my sister
  • Help her not feel so alone in a big moment
  • Be My Girl’s personal paparazzi (and yes, I teared up… more than once)

And listen, I love being a crafter, a blogger, and a business owner…But being a tía? That’s a whole different kind of magic. ✨

💖 Life Outside the Shop

Running a small business is a lot. There's always something to do, ship, tweak, or post. But this weekend reminded me:

  • It’s okay to step away and just live.
  • The shop will be there. The sales will come.
  • But these memories? They’re once-in-a-lifetime.

So here’s to:

🛼 Tiny routines and big courage
🚗 Road trips with sisters
🎉 And showing up for the people you love

Whether it’s for a roller-skating routine or just to say, “I’ve got you”—this was the best kind of weekend.

Sometimes the biggest wins don’t come from big crowds or big booths… They come from a two-hour craft fair at an elementary school , under paper flowers, surrounded by community, family, and the unexpected magic of handmade joy.
