😅 When Things Don’t Go As Planned (aka That Time the Wind Tried to End My Career)

Let’s get something straight:

I love running my small business.

I love my tumblers, my wraps, my kits, my customers.

But sometimes… the universe throws me a big ol’ glitter-covered curveball. 🥎✨

And that’s when I remind myself:

“Jecca, it is not about perfection—it’s about powering through the mess with a hot glue gun and a prayer.” 🙏🏽🛠️💁🏽‍♀️

So today, we’re talking about the chaotic moments behind the scenes that don’t make it into the Etsy thumbnails.

💥 Exhibit A: The Craft Fair Catastrophe

Setting: sunny day, cute booth, charcuterie on deck.

Me: “Everything’s perfect!”

Mother Nature: “Hold my wind.” 🌪️🫠

One gust….very large one.

ONE.

And my shelf of glass tumblers?

Yeeted.

TWO shattered glasses, a straw massacre, and me trying to act calm while scooping shards like I’m auditioning for Survivor: Craft Booth Edition. 🫳🏼🧼🥴

Customers tried to help (angels!) but I was like, “Nooo there might be glass, please don’t bleed at my booth!”

So yeah—I packed up early.

Did I cry later? …maybe.

But I also lived. AND got a story for this blog. So, balance?

📦 Exhibit B: The Shipping Slip-Up

Thought I packed everything perfectly?

Plot twist: I forgot an entire straw topper. 😅

Cue the “I’m so sorry!” message, rush shipping, and freebie peace offering.

Customer? Lovely. Forgiving.

Me? Adding “count straw toppers twice” to my mental checklist for eternity.

🌮 Exhibit C: The Sad Taco Wrap

Ever applied a UVDTF wrap with so much pride, only for it to fold in half like a sad, sticky taco?

No?

Well I have. 🙃

May that tumbler rest in glittery peace.

(And also in the “Oops” bin under my craft table.)

🤖 When Technology Says “Nope”

Uploaded a new listing.

No photos appeared.

Refreshed 27 times.

Still no photos.

Considered throwing my laptop and becoming a professional dog walker. 🐶💻💥

Eventually… it worked. But Etsy saw me SWEAT that day.

✨ So What’s the Point?

Honestly?

The point is this:

Running a business is messy.

There are great days and wild days.

And somewhere in between, I’m just trying to keep my sanity, my scissors sharp, and my wraps unwrinkled.
