🖨️ Print, Pray, Ship: My First Big POD Win (Overnight!)
Okay okay—can we talk about what just happened??
I woke up, opened my Etsy dashboard, and saw something that made me do a double take before the coffee even hit:
FIVE SHIRTS SOLD.
OVERNIGHT.
Like, while I was literally asleep. 😴👕✨
Even better?
They were two different designs—three of one, two of another. That’s not a fluke. That’s a flex.
🎉 This Was a High I Didn’t See Coming
I just recently added print-on-demand (POD) to my shop. It was one of those quiet decisions like, “Let’s just test this and see what happens.”
Spoiler alert:
THIS happened. And it was magic.
It reminded me that sometimes, the things we quietly create behind the scenes are the exact things people are out there looking for.
⚙️ But POD Has Rules... And You Gotta Follow Them
If you’re using systems like Printify, or any other POD platform—let me hit you with some tough love:
The setup matters. A lot.
They’re not hard to use, but they are specific. If you don’t follow the instructions or take time to do it right, your orders can get delayed or worse—messed up. 🙃
Here’s what you have to get right:
🖼️ Design placement & sizing🔁 Etsy listing sync
🏷️ Product names + mockups
💸 Pricing (don’t forget the base cost!)
⏳ Shipping profiles and processing time
✅ What I Did Right (and You Should Too!)
I won’t lie—setting it up took time. But I followed every single tutorial, even the boring ones. 😅
Because I knew if I did it right from the jump, it would save me the chaos later.
Here’s what helped:
✅ Ordered sample shirts first (to test quality)✅ Synced my Etsy shop with the POD platform carefully
✅ Created clean, easy-to-read product listings
✅ Added clear shipping details
✅ Set expectations right in the product descriptions
Result?
5 shirts sold. 0 problems. All went into production seamlessly. 🙌🏽
💭 Why This Matters
This wasn’t just about five shirts.
It was about:
🌱 Expanding my reach
🛌 Making sales while I SLEPT
Even better? I created the designs myself—from the fonts to the vibes to the message. And people said YES to that. That’s wild and humbling and so dang exciting.
So yes… I’m still riding this high. And yes, there may have been a mini dance party in my office when I saw those orders. 🕺🏽💃🏽
📌 Thinking About POD? Here’s My Advice:
✍️ Start simple🧪 Test your designs
🎯 Follow the setup instructions like your business depends on it (because it kinda does)
😌 Trust that what you’re building might bloom overnight
You don’t have to know it all. You just have to get started.
