✨ Flex Friday: Fiesta, Family & a Sparkly Little CEO in Training ✨
Sometimes the biggest wins don’t come from big crowds or big booths…
They come from a two-hour craft fair at an elementary school, under paper flowers, surrounded by community, family, and the unexpected magic of handmade joy.
This week’s flex?
A Fiesta-themed event hosted by my niece Gracie’s school, and y’all — it ended up being everything.
Gracie, the Accidental CEO 👧🏻✨
Knowing she might get a little bored, I brought Gracie some silicone beads to play with while she sat at my booth. You know, just something to keep her busy.
Cut to: Gracie crafting up the cutest little keychains you’ve ever seen, and casually laying them out on the table like she’s been doing markets for years. No sign. No price. Just sitting there being adorable.
Then it happened…
A woman walked by, picked one up and said,
“Oh my gosh… these keychains are BEAUTIFUL!” 😍
I blinked.
Gracie blinked.
I said, “Yep! They’re for sale!”
(Internally: Are they? They are now.)
The lady BOUGHT it.
Gracie’s face? I kid you not — glow level: Fiesta Queen.
She was so proud. I was so proud.
She might already be Googling “how to start an Etsy shop at age 10?”
Tumbler Freestyle: Activated
While Gracie was out here securing the bag, I was busy doing on-the-spot custom tumbler designs that I didn’t even plan for — but people LOVED it.
They picked designs, I applied wraps, and it became this fun, interactive part of the booth I didn’t expect… but fully embraced.
Was it a little hectic? Yep.
Did I have vinyl stuck to me for hours? Also yes.
Was it 100% worth it? Absolutely.
Wrap & Rise: Making Moves! ✂️🎨🎉
This was also the first time I featured brochures for my mobile craft parties, and I had several people stop, ask questions, and take them home.
Y’all — people are interested.
There’s real momentum growing behind this part of Rise Up Designs, and it felt amazing to finally get it out there in front of real faces and not just my Canva drafts.
(Craft party season: let’s GO.)
Community + Connection = The Real Win 🤝
I also met some incredible fellow vendors —
- CryptidsAndClover (Etsy)
- allforyou_sweetzandtreatz (Intsa)
We swapped info, followed each other, and hoping to build that San Antonio small biz circle that we all need.
Local, kind, creative, supportive.
It was one of those events where you walk away feeling tired in the feet but full in the heart.
Final Thoughts 💛
This week’s Flex Friday isn’t about massive numbers.
It’s about:
✔️ A proud little girl selling her first handmade piece
✔️ Spontaneous sales that made people smile
✔️ New faces learning about what I do
✔️ Craft parties waiting to be booked
✔️ And one really happy Tía watching it all unfold
Creativity is contagious — and I’m so grateful to be surrounded by it.
Until next time,
Jecca
