🤝How to Support Small Businesses (Even If You Can’t Buy Everything)

If you’re building a small business—or you love cheering one on—you already know:

This journey is amazing, but it’s not easy.

Starting and growing a business is full of excitement, late nights, proud moments, and yep, plenty of challenges too. (Hi, have you seen the cost of supplies lately? Thanks a lot, tariffs and inflation.) 📈

And while every sale matters to a small business like mine, support doesn’t always have to mean pulling out your wallet. Sometimes the biggest impact comes from the little things that cost zero dollars but mean the world. ❤️

Whether you’re a fellow maker or a supporter on the sidelines— So how can you support a small business (even if you can’t buy right now)?

✅ Follow Their Social Media Pages

Whether you’re a fellow creative or just someone who loves small shops—following matters. The more followers a small business has, the more credible and visible they become. (And yes, it gives us a little happy dance moment, every single time. ☀️)

✅ Like, Comment, & Share Their Posts

Every like, comment, and share helps beat the mysterious social media algorithms into showing our stuff to more people. (And let’s be honest, a heart emoji on a post can sometimes turn someone’s whole day around. ❤️)

✅ Tell Your Friends About Them

Word of mouth is powerful.

  1. Bought an amazing tumbler? Tell your coworkers.
  2. Found a small shop you love? Shout them out on your stories.
  3. Heard a fellow maker is doing custom orders? Tag a friend who needs one.
  4. Spreading the word is pure gold.

✅ Leave a Review (Even If It’s Been a While!)

If you’ve purchased—even months ago—leaving a review is one of the kindest, most powerful ways to support a shop. It builds trust for future buyers (and secretly, we treasure every kind word forever and ever amen).

✅ Cheer Them On

A quick message. A “you’re killing it!” comment. Especially from other small business owners who GET IT. Because no one understands the highs, lows, and late-night crafting chaos quite like another maker.

Why This Matters More Than Ever

Lately, I’ve seen supply costs creeping up—thanks to tariffs, shortages, and the wild ride that is 2025’s economy. Prices are increasing—not because small business owners are trying to be fancy—but because the cost of creating has genuinely gone up.

We feel it.

You feel it.

And through it all, the small business community thrives because we lift each other up.

Final Thoughts: Every Little Bit Counts

Whether you’re shopping small, sharing a post, leaving a review, or simply cheering from the sidelines—you are making a difference.

To my fellow small business owners:

✅ Keep creating.
✅ Keep cheering for others.
✅ Keep showing up.

To everyone supporting a dream:

✅ Keep following.
✅ Keep liking.
✅ Keep reminding the world why handmade, heartfelt, small businesses matter.

We’re all part of each other’s stories. And I’m so grateful you’re part of mine. ❤️
