3 Things I’m Doing Right Now to Grow My Business (That Aren’t Making Products)
Let's be real for a second—the making part of running a handmade biz?
It’s the fun stuff. It’s where I feel most creative, most me.
But you know what doesn’t get talked about enough? All the other things I have to do that don’t involve vinyl, tumblers, or cute UVDTF stickers...
but still make my business better.
So today, I’m pulling back the curtain to share 3 non-crafty things I’m doing right now to help my shop grow—because spoiler alert: it’s not all glitter and glue guns.
1️⃣ Keeping My Inventory (and Etsy Listings) Organized
Look, I don’t always love this part. It’s basically the laundry of my business—necessary, repetitive, and deeply un-fun. π
But lately, I’ve been double-checking my Etsy listings to make sure they match what I actually have on hand. Because that moment when you sell something that’s not even in your bin anymore? Yeah, that’s the worst.
✔️ I’ve cleaned up my item counts
✔️ I’ve updated product descriptions
✔️ I’m making sure my tags are still strong and searchable
And let’s talk about this one for a second:
π Does refreshing your Etsy listings help with search?
Kinda—but only if you're making real changes. Etsy used to reward sellers for just deactivating/reactivating listings, but now it’s all about quality. Updating your tags, photos, title, and description can help Etsy view your listing as more relevant and up-to-date. So don’t just click “edit”—make it count!
2️⃣ Testing Wraps & Researching Print-On-Demand
Yes, I’m still all about glass tumblers and custom vibes, but I’ve also been:
-
Trying new wrap vendors to test print quality
-
Exploring print-on-demand options to potentially add more passive income streams
Do I know exactly where I’m going with this yet? Nope.
Am I open to new possibilities and playing with ideas? Absolutely.
Running a small business means wearing all the hats—and this week, I’m rocking the "future product development" hat like a boss. π©✨
3️⃣ Managing My Money (AKA Facing the Receipts I Keep Avoiding)
Hi, my name is Jecca and I used to be a QuickBooks procrastinator.
But I’ve been trying to change that.
During a slower sales week, I finally:
✔️ Input all my receipts
✔️ Categorized my expenses
✔️ Took a real look at how much I’ve invested so far
And you know what?
It made me feel weirdly empowered. Like—this isn’t just a fun side hustle.
This is a real business that deserves my attention… even when that attention is on spreadsheets. π
The Bottom Line? Growth Doesn’t Always Look Cute
Sometimes growth is:
π₯️ A spreadsheet
π An updated listing
π¦ A delayed product launch
π Or doing research while half-watching Netflix
But these moments matter just as much as every wrap I apply or every tumbler I send out.
I’m building something long-term, and that means doing the boring stuff, the quiet stuff, and the “nobody sees this but me” stuff.
And honestly? I’m proud of that.

Until next time,
Jecca
